On 1 October 2024, Sapphire Coast Community Aged Care (SCCAC) celebrated the fulfillment of a nearly 20-year vision. The Glen Retirement Village, now complete and officially open as part of SCCAC, was celebrated with over 120 residents, staff, community members, and board members, both past and present.
Our Master of Ceremonies, Daniel Murphy, Chairman of the SCCAC Board, led the event, and we were honoured to welcome Mr. Barry Irvin, Chairman of Bega Cheese Ltd., who delivered the keynote address and officially opened The Glen.
Over 120 residents, staff, community members, and board members gathered.
Kirsty McBain, MP for Bega, also attended and commented “It was a pleasure to tour the homes and witness the fantastic work the team has accomplished.”
Many thanks to the Bega District Band for adding a festive touch to the morning with their wonderful music. We ended the celebration with a delicious spread of sandwiches, cakes, scones, and tea, provided by the Hillgrove House Kitchen team and our Hillgrove Auxiliary.
